The Pow-R Mole PD-2 is a compact hydraulic thrust boring machine designed for trenchless service-line installation and replacement. It can be used to install pipe or cable beneath porches, driveways, walkways, landscaping, and other improved areas where conventional open-trench excavation would cause unnecessary disruption.

This particular used PD-2 is configured for **non-directional, straight-line boring**. It does not include steering or electronic guidance equipment and should not be represented as a guided or steerable boring system.

The PD-2 uses a cylinder-actuated, positive-locking jaw assembly to apply steady force while driving connected push rods through the ground. Once the rods reach the receiving pit, compatible pulling attachments may be used to pull the new pipe or cable back through the completed bore.

The machine can be secured to a basement floor or launched from a small pit when used with the appropriate mounting equipment. Its compact size makes it suitable for service-line work in confined or restricted locations.

Despite its compact footprint, the PD-2 produces up to 10,000 pounds of thrust at 2,050 PSI and has a maximum push rate of approximately 12 feet per minute. It is designed to install pipe up to 2 inches in diameter in suitable compressible soil conditions.
